Nandini(120)

She looked into the mirror and uttered the nickname she’d given herself.
“ Chimera”
Much like the mythical monster, she felt she was actually made of two completely different
beasts.
With her sons, Sanjay and Rajiv, she was mother hen – nurturing, cajoling, over protecting. But in office she was the dragon – ruthless, breathing fire, annihilating anyone daring to  cross her path.
Late that October evening she wondered which of the two beasts would she be remembered as.
Next morning, as she hurried through her garden, she suddenly felt a searing pain, before hearing the gun shot. As she fell, she suddenly knew the answer to her question. As a Chimera, the dragon had had more of an impact on people.

Chimera

French inhaling
mouth blown
rings,
And the smoke forms
Your body,
Just as fluid
as your mind.

Mr Blunt
Floats,
like
Lilies in Monet’s pond.

You are on my mind.
Blunt-ly.

Tempted to flick the clingy
Water drop from the
Split of your hair
Lucky water drop!

And yes,
There’s this thing
I have to tell you.
You have pretty fingers,
Slender than most
I’ve touched.

The imp in your
Eyes,
Pleads innocence.
But I am guilty.
I drew them on
Canvas.
Shaded a little of me
In them.
And smudged all
That was “ours”
And made them pastel.

I wouldn’t touch you..
I couldn’t!
I love you

because

You don’t exist.

She fights hard… He recalled.
She fought really really hard!
But she would have known by now,
We twin eyed creatures always had won!

He was mesmerized,
He was shattered,
He was scared till death,
He’d never know how his love could create such hatred?

She was part-human,
Part she was made up of star,
Memories so furious,
Skins and everything million light-years apart!

His blood made him cry,
Her love confused her though he could never defy.
She never believed the impossible,
He was the one who deceived her.

He told her, it was the time to bid adieu,
She dropped a lonely drop of pain.
He was her Pegasus.
She was his Chimera.

Veggie is so weak, he won’t survive!!
He needs to have some meat,
River tonight? I would like some fish.
–Yesterday we went hunting and got the deer for the fat mane, and before that we went to the river for you, slider. Can’t you guys think about me for once? I am starving.
You need to munch half a deer, you’ll be fine…
–But I cant, its against my religion.
Do as you are told or I ll eat you up now … (Roars ferociously)
Hisssssss. The snake bites the goat.
The lion and the snake die. Chimera lives no more.
“So kids, what do you learn about teamwork from this story”, asked Mrs. Rosé

Chimera,
you’re the smooth, amorphous shadow  that follows
the altering patterns of my steps in the sunlight
and paints ephemeral portraits on my walls at twilight
to rapidly dissolve in the darkening light
into near-darkness and beyond;
you awaken in my dreams–
in light you’re dark,
in dreams real;
neither can I clasp in my fists my shadow
nor breathe life into my dreams—
Chimera,
I am you, you are me.

A little lovely lonely lamb
was going for a holiday.
Wandering in the windy woods
she lost her granny’s way.

A handsome hot hunky Ram,
from behind a bush, was prying.
The dirty devil drooled and danced,
watching the cute little sheep crying.

“What’s a lovely sheep like you
doing in a dirty forest like this”
sneaking from the bush, he asked,
“May I help you O sweet miss”

She, much relieved, relaxed, relied
And came near the dashing buck.
He consoled caressed and kissed her
then dug his teeth deep in her neck.

“A bloody bestial brutal wolf
not an innocent Ram”, he said.
“Wolf’s soul in a sheep’s skin,
I am a chimera and you’re dead”
